“Wait… so a starter diet isn’t for adults starting a diet?”

That comment—equal parts humor and honesty—marked a turning point during a conversation with a marketing professional at a recent industry meeting. It was a lighthearted moment, but it revealed something deeper: how many professionals in the poultry industry feel left out of the technical conversation—and how much a clear, accessible poultry training program is needed.

Poultry Lingo, a new poultry training course was designed to change that.

Created specifically for non-technical team members working in poultry businesses—sales, marketing, support, and administration—Poultry Lingo is the first course of its kind. It aims to break down poultry science into accessible, practical concepts that build confidence across departments.

A First-of-Its-Kind Poultry Training Experience

Poultry Lingo isn’t a repackaged seminar or production manual. It’s a completely fresh hybrid training experience designed to bring poultry science to life for professionals who support the industry behind the scenes.

For many participants, this was their first formal training on poultry farming. And the response has been remarkable. Through plain-language explanations of terms like “brooder,” “grower ration,” and “feed conversion ratio,” the course opened new doors for communication, understanding, and collaboration.

Attendees reported increased confidence in customer conversations, more accurate campaign messaging, and a clearer understanding of how their roles connect to poultry production outcomes.

Why Poultry Professionals Speak a Different Language

The poultry industry is highly specialized. It operates on precision, creating an environment for technical vocabulary that can feel overwhelming to anyone not trained in it.

Without a shared understanding, even the most skilled professionals in adjacent roles can feel lost. The risks are real:

  • Sales teams may hesitate when facing customer questions.
  • Marketing content can miss the mark or overgeneralize.
  • Customer support staff may default to scripted answers without truly understanding the issues.

That’s why the Poultry Lingo initiative was launched. It fills a longstanding gap between science and strategy, turning complex topics into business-ready knowledge through intentional, role-relevant poultry production training.

What Poultry Lingo Covers

Unlike traditional programs from a poultry training institute, Poultry Lingo focuses on what matters most for cross-functional teams. It doesn’t aim to make every participant a nutritionist or veterinarian. Instead, it empowers them to communicate effectively with clarity and confidence.
